    How to name it
Every time the word 'bye' passes your lips,
Every time a tryst with you comes to an end,
I seek to be lifted in your arms,
So I may forget the world of pain,
And see all beauty in it all over again.

But no, that won't happen, not in this life,
For my years of innocence have come to pass,
    Or so say the civilized.
Hence I am , thus content,
with your tone, and your breath.

A touch of your magic love,
    Shall bite and heal many,
Of which a few shall know,
    The angel which you are,
And fewer, the angel which they are.

Pray, I be one of those,
Not anymore blessed than any other being,
    That had had a mother,
    As lovely as you are.

Everytime the word 'bye' passes your lips,
Everytime a tryst with you ends,
Everytime, I seek to be lifted in your arms,
    Or lift you in mine,
So in the ocean of Love,
    Shall we fly together.

    I Am.
I am the smile that is smiled,
I am the laugh that is laughed,
The wail of the child, the softness of its palms,
The soar of the kite, the waft that makes it fly.

I am the trance of music, the rhythm of dance,
The freshness of dew, the strokes of the painter's brush,
The poem that writes itself, the Love in the beloved's eyes,
If only the poet shall listen, if only the lover shall see.

    As I felt it....
    Tears rolled down my cheeks,
As the sadness crept into my Heart,
The Light of my Master, if I do not see,
In vain will my life be.

Do I feign, or am I worth,
I know not, at least, not yet,
All things do have a reason, but.
    Is what I must trust.

The bees come for the light,
The light that shines so bright.
So desperate to catch it, as they are
They know not of the fear,
Of losing their way, or of death.
Get to the light, they must.
Get to that Light, I must.

    Romancing in myself...
Came forth the lover and his beloved
In my Heart as the song played

Mad was I at this enchantress of mine,
The sounds of his horse and the clank of his armour,
Struggled to ride with her waves,
Playing my games, I ran faster from him,
The emotions on her sea of love,
Charming was his valour, with a touch of madness for me,
The Galahad in me wouldn't give up though,
Loved I his Heart that shone so bright,
For his Grail , she was.
Little does he see, his chase is my game,
But I... I was already his own.

And so as the song played in my Heart,
Came forth the lover and his beloved,
Their frolic, faster than thought, filled my Universe,
Each in the other arms, finally, a flower bloomed,
Giving of in its scent, all the beautiful things
    In this world and beyond

    One
    Across Time and Space,
The Illusion with its mist and haze,
Swam I through the Heart's ways,
To meet each of my Selves in their days.

Each of them were of a form,
Each, of a different eye and charm,
I stopped, and to each said:
' Thou art not by body and mind limited,
Thou art not from anyone omitted,
So to the path of Love alone stay committed '

And so along the Heart's ways,
I met myself who started this journey,
    And to him said,
'Thou art not by body and mind limited,
Thou art not from anyone omitted,
So to the path of Love alone stay committed '
After all, what started, and what ended ?

    Pearls from the Sky
The sounds of a loving heart
made their way into my ears...
    Listening to that beautiful song,
    I sat down in Stillness.

A hundred thousand rain drops fell
on the dirty streets that day..
Not one of them, I noticed, but saw
    Only the flower of love
    That had bloomed through.

The eyeless petals, each of one magnificence,
    the black angel,held together,at the centre;
    I crept so near,
That their hearts felt so dear.

Struck my hand out, for them to touch,
Brightened by their Light..I left with the angel,
Touched in my soul,Saying to myself,
'Well, the dark clouds have not left the sky,
Nor has the night passed, but into my Heart,
the Sun has given me a loving peek'

    In Waiting ...
Far from the world, I live,
    on the island of Love.

    All the days through nights,
    I spent there...
    Sitting on the shore,
    playing with its sands.
    Looking at the waters,
    helping you row...
Listening to the music of winds,
    carrying your messages...
    With my hope,
    Is your Light...

    waiting am I,
    for u to join me.

    Dreamt I that you came,
Not by the waters but by the wind,
    Love had given you wings.

    You soared over the seas,
    and saw the Horizon,
The Giver of Life and His flaming chariot,
    took you into His embrace.

    Returning from His domain,
    You came, just for me,
Or so I thought, true might not be.
Yet I could feel your warmth,
And in that, all Life safely do I breathe.

    Inspirations.
Sign-posts. Pointers. Inspirations. Magical doors. Loving Invitations. Invisible helping hands... :) .. I never tire of them these days.

Someone said ' We are all magnets ' ( I suppose many have said this in their own way ). How true that is!

Or maybe, it seems to be true, since I believe it. But doesn't that make it objectively true ? Interesting dilemma, I thought.

I was left wondering today, how it would feel, if we really did see every single thing, every single event, every single moment of our lives as a pointer, as an inspiration, an invitation from God.

Or if you wish to call Her, The Supreme Spirit.
    Or perhaps, the Self.
Or perhaps, the Origin of all Inspiration.

Anyway you wish to call it, as long as , it is coming as a 'breakthrough', as an 'unexpected visitor', ever-fresh, ever new, never redundant, never a by-product of the ageless ruminations of most of our thoughts.

My second thought about this question ( yes, I wrote and you read it right... it is my 'second' thought ) is that maybe I would be mind-blind to them. I mean, maybe I would choose to see the inspirations, but not act on them. Refuse to be a tool for its manifestation. Refuse God, perhaps.

    Sounds frightening, does it?

I suppose then I will let you know that most of us have been doing exactly that for quite some time. Perhaps its not so shocking now. Many of our lives seem OK. Manageable. Do-able. Why change it, for some 'aaha!' that is probably not going to be easy, not going to be in our comfort-zones to act? So we choose not to act on it. Chuck it. Nip it in the bud. Let it into the dungeons of our mind, never to open again.

Will we then stop seeing too, in time? Maybe. Unless we don't. If we do stop seeing the pointers, the inspirations, would they cease to be there?

Yes, perhaps. Until we look to see otherwise. Until we choose to believe that no matter how deep we bury ourselves, our inspirations and our grander notions about ourselves, a simple act of Love can blow it all away, pick us up from the dungeons, deliver us from the dragons.

Incidentally my first thought about the question is that I would be awed. Awed to such an extent that I would no longer be there. Not as me, not as Prasad.

Maybe as something else. Maybe as a mere sink for the inspiration, I would be. Maybe as a tool for the inspiration to be manifest, I would be. And how beautiful would that be, I have no real idea, except that it would atleast be as beautiful as now, when I chose to act on my inspiration.

The inspiration was a question, that prodded me to answer. The question was the central question of this journal entry. And I did answer, on the same day, in just a few hours. I did write something about it, if not an appropriate 'answer'. This is the piece. You are reading it. As it is said, strike while the iron is still hot, ahem... ;)..

I believe we always live to see another day, another way. I hope that day, that way, is going to be aligned with my first thought about my question, as here in this journal entry. I hope it comes sooner than we can think of it. For me, for you, and for everyone else.

    Much Love and Light,
Prasad - as The tool that answered an inspiration.

    Wordless
There is Joy in joy, and Joy in grief,
Truth in truth, and Truth in the lie,
Love in love, Love in hate.
What matters, is our choice of fate!

There is Peace in peace, and in war,
Blessing in the blessing, and in the curse,
Beauty in the beauty, and in the beast.
What matters, is our choice in the Grand Feast!

In life, Life is, and so in death,
The Now, in the past and the future,
Oh my Beloved, of what Grace
Are you manifest, in the Hearts
Of the compassionate, and of the heartless!

Here I come, there I go,
Weeping for your Love, you do know!
Not in need, but in awe,
My pierced Heart stops, and only says Wow!

    Sprinklings of a Roaring Sun
    '

Streaks of Light, shattering the darkness,
The greens turn green, from all the blackness,
    Everything is illuminated,
When like a hundred million suns, comes my Master.

His meek form, His wobbly gait,
His own chariot, that fail to hide
The wisdom of His being, the warmth of His heart.

Ever so vibrating, ever so subtle,
Ever so dynamic, ever at peace,
Armed with the mighty sword of Love,
Stroke me off, and showed Him inside
My wondrous Master, my beautiful Universe.

    Now I shall walk free,
    Now I become Freedom.
Of what I am worth, I know not.
My Master, in all I have caught.

    In me, springs Infinite vigour,
    And blooms an unwilting rose,
    Fiery Red of Infinite Compassion,
That my Master gives, that my Master is.

I become His torch, His pyre,
That shall ever burn and forever render
All things to the One thing there is.

Whence no more holy air must I breathe,
    shall I sacrifice this sacrifice,
And return to my Beloved Master,
Just as the drops of dew,
That the Sun glorifies, and in time
Draws into its Embrace, into the All. '

Carl Gustav Jung - on Love ( from ' Memories, Dreams and reflections ' )
    "

At this point the fact forces itself on my attention that beside the field of reflection there is another equally broad if not broader area in which rational understanding and rational modes of representation find scarcely anything that they are able to grasp. This is the realm of Eros. In classical times such things were properly understood. Eros was considered a god whose divinity transcended human limits, and who therefore could neither be comprehended nor represented in any way.

I might as many before me have attempted to do, venture an approach to this daimon, whose range of activity extends from the endless spaces of the heavens to the dark abysses of hell; but I falter before the task of finding the language which might adequately express the incalculable paradoxes of love. Eros is a kosmogonos, a creator and father mother of all higher consciousness. I sometimes feel that Paul's words - " tough I speak with the tongues of men and all angels and have not love "- might well be the first condition of all cognition and the quintessence of divinity itself. Whatever the learned interpretation may be of the sentence " God is love " , the words affirm the complexio oppositorum of the Godhead.

In my own life I have again and again been faced with the mystery of love, and have never been able to explain what it is. Like Job I had "to lay my hand on my mouth, I have spoken once and I will not answer". here is the greatest and the smallest , the remotest and the nearest , the highest and the lowest, and we cannot discuss one side of it without also discussing the other. No language is adequate to this paradox. Whatever one can say , no words express the whole. To speak of partial aspects is always too much or too little, for only the whole is meaningful. Love bears all things and endures all things. These words say all there is to be said; nothing can be added to them. For we are in the deepest sense , the victims and the instruments of cosmogonic "love".

I put the word in quotation marks to indicate that I do not use it in its connotations of desiring , preferring, favouring, wishing and similar feelings, but as something superior to the individual, a unified and undivided whole. Being a part, man cannot grasp the whole. He is at its mercy. He may assent to it, or rebel against it; but he is always caught up by it and enclosed within it. He is dependent upon it and is sustained by it.

Love is his light and his darkness, whose end he cannot see. Love ceases not whether he speaks with "the tongues of angels", or with the scientific exactitude traces the life of the cell down to its uttermost source Man can try to name love, showering upon it all the names at his command, and still he will involve himself in endless self deceptions. If he possesses a grain of wisdom he will lay down his arms and name the unknown by the more unknown, ignotum per ignotius - that is , by the name of God. This is a confession of his subjection. his imperfection, and his dependence; but at the same time a testimony to his freedom to choose between truth and error.

    "

You are the light of the world!

    The heavens are trembling,
    The hallways shake,
    Where art Thou?
    My dearest angel.
    Where art Thou?

In deep faith, call out I,
That you be here with me,
    Now and forever, through,
The sands of time, working together,
I and You, you and I

    Whence storms may roar, and
    The earth may split,
Safe shall I remain, In your arms,
    Amidst all the dreary mess

    Then shall I see,
The Beauty that all this was,
    Is, and will be, is
The same, and thus shall end
Our imagined separation, and my dreamed spectacle!

    Where I go from there,
    I know not; for then,
    There is nowhere to go,
But Here, no time to be, but Now.

    The circle shall be complete,
With you and me and All That Is,
    as One, in True Beauty,
    That hath no separate,
    Beholder and Beheld;
    in true Love, that hath
    lover and beloved,
    Not two, but One.

My knees tremble and my heart aches
The thought of leaving you, when it comes
Though you say,' my dear son,
    With you , I always am '.

Forever do we ride on our waves,
    Happiness and sadness, alternating both..
Yet it is Love that is all there is,
The waves, the ride and the rider..

    Forget have I, all this,
    Even that by thy Grace,
    Ever do I desire,
    Only thy loving embrace.

The pain of separation shall come to pass,
    When you touch my Heart,
    and then I shall see,
how even the soul knows to cry.

Thy name be on my lips,
    Thy being in my being,
Be my window to the world, henceforth
    Ever may I forever seek,
    Only thy amazing grace...

    Finding Love
" You may not find Love where you look for it. But you will find Love wherever you place it " - NDW and several several other unquoted Masters.

This is by far one of the most amazing insights I have ever felt in all these years.

    The Ganges deluge
    Behold! The Ganges ...
    with all its glory ...
    A river known so sacred...
Deluging now, where hath gone..the Grace?

People swept away by its pull..
The world around, disappearing in a wink
All that, and I am dying too..
    Strangely, though, neither I fear,
    Nor worry...do I know why ?

Ah.... I was told, this was not the Ganges
of Haridwar the place, but of the Heart.
    The Real gateway to Hari....
Not water, what flows, is Love,
Destroying our reflections, into What We Are..

The Sacred river, flows in each of us..
The Sacred word is what We speak...
The Sacred act, is what We do...
The Sacred place, is Here, where We are..
The Sacred moment, is Now, when We are.

Look into the Light of the Infinite
    In the Oneness of all,
    By this Gracious Ganges, hence
    We shall thrall.
    7:18 pm
    Infinite Grace
Dancing in His Bliss we run..
Our Hearts beating to the notes
    Of His Flute, they sing
Now we have no place to hide,
He has taken us in His stride!

I woke up one day to see,
There was no more need to flee!
He sent me angels, not one but many,
'Why me', I cried.., 'why me, who is not worth a penny.. '

'Worthy, you are, my child', He said.
'As worthy as anyone else is.
And so, curse not thy darkness,
    Nor of another, but
Be a light unto them. '

    And so, lies our challenge,
    Shall we be of courage,
    could we boldly say,
'I am the Truth, the Life, and the Way.' ?

In this challenge, there are no enemies,
    Except our lesser selfs,
    No weapon but Love.
    First they shall ignore,
    then laugh, and then fight,
    And then, We win.

    Breathing with the Earth
Suddenly, from behind the rim of the moon, in long, slow-motion moments of immense majesty, there emerges a sparkling blue and white jewel, a light, delicate sky-blue sphere laced with slowly swirling veils of white, rising gradually like a small pearl in a thick sea of black mystery. It takes more than a moment to fully realize this is Earth . . . home.

Astronaut Edgar Mitchell, aboard the Apollo 14, spoke these words on his first encounter with Earth from space. One of the great ironies of the modern industrial society with all its technologies is that though we can now see planet Earth as a whole—as a living biosphere, most of us down here continue to behave as if we were blind, as though our actions are immaterial.

Recently, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change announced that it was very likely that human beings had a major part to play in the recent changes in world climate. Well, the ‘advanced’ civilization that we are, it has taken us so many years to agree to a simple fact that we, visibly the planet’s most magnificent species, are capable of altering dramatically its very rules of living.

We have had several record breaking scenarios regarding climate change in the recent decades - CO2 levels in the atmosphere at an all time high in the last 4,00,000 years, the last decade has been the hottest ever on record, a record number of degree 5 hurricanes in 2006, extreme droughts and floods at unexpected places throughout the world, the polar ice melting down quicker by the day. The UN claims that around 1,50,000 human deaths are caused by climate change each year already. However, climate change seems to be just a tip of an iceberg of the environmental problems we have caused.

Rainforests, which are home to two-thirds of all the living animal and plant species and play a major role in global climate, are disappearing at rates faster than ever before. Once covering 14% of the planets surface, they are now down to 8%, and according to some estimates, they might be lost completely in 40 years, along with most of the species they support.

Plastic – popular, multifarious in its applications, and non-biodegradable. By discarding plastic thoughtlessly, people are accidentally causing the deaths of millions of plant life, mammals, birds, reptiles and fish every year.

Human population has gone from 2 billion to 6.4 billion in the last 80 years, and supposed to reach 9 billion by 2050, with India leading the group. This puts more stress on the resources of the planet, and makes it less available to other species as well. Right now, our bio-diversity holds its position with one in four mammals in serious decline.

Toxic e-waste continually lands up in huge amounts in the developing nations like China, India, and Africa from the developed countries. With little or no regulatory measures on such kind of imports, developing nations are faced with the challenge of coping with toxic substances such as lead, cadmium etc., which could cause health hazards as serious as cancer, especially to the downtrodden who get to work with these in close quarters.

One might ask - Do these facts and figures really paint a pessimistic picture? Are they worthy enough to be concerned about?

Till recently, there have been a few things in life that we didn’t have to toil for, the features of a habitable planet, as breathable air, a temperature range that we are comfortable with, water, and land on which we could grow food. These scientific facts indicate that these things above that we have taken for granted for quite a long time now, may not be so freely available within as near as the next 50 years. We might be the first ever generation to face the reactions of the planet to a gradually paced but widespread onslaught on it by our previous generations and ourselves.

Putting it straight, what we are risking here is a place to rest in about 40 trillion km (that’s approximately how far our solar system’s nearest neighbour is – also assuming it has an earth like planet). Would it be wise to consider ourselves as a civilization at all, if we don’t do anything to stop cutting the same branch of the tree on which we ourselves rest?

Is it possible that we can do something about all of this?

Why not? If we have the power to cause damage, we most definitely have the power to heal. For that, we would have to consciously replace behaviors that affect the planet adversely, hence making it a habit out of preserving Life, literally so – serving Life before any other human agenda. Here are a few examples of simple things that we can do now, which might go a long way to preserve Life on our planet.

§ use, reuse, and recycle plastic efficiently
    § use energy efficient lighting.
§ walk, cycle or use mass transit whenever possible.
§ turn off electrical electronic appliances that are not in use
§ plant a sapling and nurture it into a tree
§ learn more about our environmental problems , and
§ Enlighten your neighbours, colleagues, friends and work towards a safe disposal mechanism feasible in your community

Let us not dismiss these simple acts by reasoning “Just because I take these measures, would the situation change?” . It is extremely essential that we take our theories and small talk about this crisis to actual practice right now, lest it be too late. We must act. Not tomorrow, not next Sunday. We must act NOW. Everything we believe in, think about, speak and do, must be done with constant awareness of the crisis we are in while keeping in mind the fact that we are responsible for preserving Life on this planet, and hence ourselves before any other agenda of ours is served.

Remember - we are not spacemen who flew from a distant planet to land here. The trees are our brothers, the birds our kinsmen, the rivers that flow are the bloodstreams that connect us as One. What we do to the web of Life on earth, we do to ourselves. We are Earth, expressed.

"What the heavens is spirituality all about" - As I see it.
Long post after a looonngg time.

I happened to cut through a common question everywhere.. Here it is.

    >>>What is the role of Spirituality in Human life?

Before you read my answer to this ( Yeah... If you want to, of course ) I would request to collect your own thoughts about spirituality first, and identify a centre point from which these thoughts come.

Believe me, most certainly this central thought of yours about spirituality, is the central thought of you about your whole Life. This is from which will shape your experience of your world.

Now that you have done it ( or you are too impatient ;-) ) heres my view of the matter.

    -----------

Spirituality is nothing but a living Life as a joyous experience. I am not talking only those about 'happy' experiences of Life, the moments of happiness that we might have.

The All of It, the entire roller coaster ride. Not any few or many portions of it. Including those we might seemingly fail, have a unwanted outcome, etc etc. The whole package.

If you think spirituality is just about theories, personal Gods, their mythologies, reading divine books, singing Bhajans, .. whatever, nope. Primarily, it is not about anything of this.

Spirituality is primarily about living your own damn Bliss/Life while in balance with All Life. Doing what you Love to do without getting in the Love of other beings.

Did you get this straight? Let me rephrase it out for you again.

Spirituality is about being/doing what you Love to be/do without obstructing the flow of the being/doing of another .

The multifarious theories that exist, the myriad of personal Gods, their mythologies, divine books, songs, pictures, places of worship are secondary to Love.

I mean, get anything you Love done. However, be in balance of body-mind-soul. This will help you realize what you Love doing most. This will help you clearly know and state the Grandest ever version of the Greatest ever Vision that you had of yourself.

After all, primordially all questions boil down to two.

    “ Who Am I? “ and “ What do I choose to be? “

You can be any damn thing you want to be for that matter, a fruitseller, a butcher, a soldier, a teacher, an atheist, a business lord, a garbage picker, a saint, .. whoever you want to be, as long as you understand that the same freedom that you have been given, is provided to all others.

Because, my friend, there are no others. And so, you are not to restrict any of Life. For if you are restricting any of Life, you are restricting yourself.

To be the one you truly love to be, you need nothing.

You need nothing outside of you to be anything you wish to be. You came here to Earth with all the tools you would ever need to be who you wish to be. They all lie dormant, like the whole tree does, within a seed. Can you judge the Potential of a seed by looking at it ? You won’t until you imagine the tree it would be.

Yet, all those mechanism that a seed needs to make itself into a tree, is already in it. Just the right environment, it takes up all it needs.

You are more glorious than a seed, my friend, in the subject that you can choose your environment. In fact you can create it yourself for yourself.

You are Life, Love, and Freedom. So seek within yourself what you are, choose who you want to be in this world, and Be That.

The Greatest Gift Ever, you could give to this world, is Being YourSelf. And this is what spirituality is all about.

    At least, in my world.

I am sure you know all of this in your Heart of hearts. One question remains, can you believe it?

    Love and Light.

P.S:: Maybe it sounded a little too poetic, but hey, I meant it to be so.

    Current Mood: God-like;-)
